In October 1966, one week after its first flight, Article 127 flew for seven hours and 40 minutes, the longest time in air to that date.

Between 22 and 27 May 1967, Layton flew 60-6930 non-stop from Nevada to Kadena AFB, Okinawa.

60-6930 bears the same markings as the YF-12s flown by NASA from 1969 thru 1979. However, none of the A-12s were ever flown by NASA.
